Breaking News : Dear Mama Passes On

Afeni Shakur, mother of the late rap star Tupac Shakur, died Monday night aged 69.
According to the sheriff's department they were called to the political activist's home in the affluent suburb of Sausalito in the San Francisco Bay Area just after 9.30pm for a possible cardiac arrest.
Afeni was transported to a nearby hospital where she died at 10.28pm.
The late hip hop star rapped about his mom in 1995 track Dear Mama, in which he
detailed her strength to try to raise him right and their sometimes tumultuous relationship when he found himself on the wrong end of the law.

It also spoke about Afeni's own struggle with drug addiction and poverty during her son's childhood.

In the rap, he said: 'Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place.

'There's no way I can pay you back/But the plan is to show you that I understand/You are appreciated.
