Wait A Minute, Have You Taken stock Today?

"sorry  we're closed for business today", Robert Jones side to a customer pointing to the door. The notice, which read "CLOSED", gave him a well deserved break from the customers at the store. It was one of those busy Saturdays when the Roberts Store did it's stocktaking. Bi-monthly,  inventory of every piece of hardware in the store. On those days, the store was closed to customers for the whole day. The stock taking we that important.
Robert's father who was visiting the family for the weekend, asked his son, "what are you doing, Robert?"  "How do you mean dad?"  Robert replied with a question. " I mean closing the store to your customers when you should be doing business?" his father explained. " Oh, that I called stocktaking dad", Robert enthused. "we are taking inventory of all we have in the store so that everything will be accounted for. It's important that all business persons do this periodically, because it enables them to check whether they are receiving the gross profit that they had intended. "
" OK, " his father smiled." Now,  I understand what you're doing. You're a good business man,  son,  a very good business man. " Thanks for the compliment, dad, Robert replied with an air of pride." But you don't strike me as a wise man, "the old man quickly cut in. Not sure if what he meant, Roasted asked, as he raised his eyebrow in surprise," what are you talking about, dad. I don't understand you.? "
Periodically, you take stock of your business like every business person, right?"  the father started his homily. According to you, this helps to know, as fr as possible, exactly how you stand in your business and leaves nothing in uncertainty. It is so important that the whole family I involved, and you have to close business for the day. I see wisdom in what you are doing son, and am impressed. But let me ask you. Do You Ever Take Stock Of Your Relationship With God? "

Robert was dumbfounded. His father's message had sunk in. As a Christian, he had never thought about taking inventory of his Spiritual Life. But now that his father had mentioned it, he saw the importance of applying the natural principle of stock taking in business to the spiritual realm. Like Robert many of us have not realised the importance of regular, accurate stock taking of our lives. We are too busy pursuing careers, promotions, relationships, appointments that we don't think about our spiritual life. The truth is, if you don't take stock now and make all the necessary adjustments here on Earth, you Must do so when you meet your maker.
Death is a fact of life and a mystery. Except for those who will be taken by Rapture, death is inevitable, and a debt we all owe, irrespective of your class, age, skin colour or status in the society, Church, mosque or any other religious beliefs. Nobody lives forever. Every human being has an appointment with death, " it's appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement" (Hebrews 9:27). Each passing day of our sojourn on earth takes us to our grave, because we don't know the exact day, time, hour, minute, or second we will breathe our last breath.  Those that are dead do not have the opportunity to take stock Today, but you do. So I say Shut The Store Of Your Life, and Take That Stock Today. Tomorrow Might Be Too Late.
