Testicular Cancer, Types And Treatment.

  The testicles
The testicles are the two oval-shaped male sex organs that sit inside the scrotum on either side of the penis.
The testicles are an important part of the male reproductive system because they  produce as many as 12 trillion sperm in a male's lifetime, about 400 million of which are released in a single ejaculation.

          What is Testicular Cancer?
Cancer of the testicles, also known as testicular cancer, is one of the less common cancers. It usually affects younger men between the ages of 15 and 49. Testicular cancer or cancer of the testis occurs when cancer cells form in one or both testicles. These cells begin to change and grow uncontrollably, forming a mass or tumor.

Men with testicular cancer may experience a variety of symptoms or signs. Sometimes, men with testicular cancer do not show any of these symptoms. In addition, these symptoms can be caused by other conditions besides cancer, so the presence of these symptoms does not mean that a man has cancer.
Most commonly there are two types of testicular cancers :
1)seminomas, or slow growing cancer and
  2) non-seminomas, or fast growing cancer

                                       Tips On Testicular Cancer

  - - - A man’s lifetime risk of developing testicular cancer is approximately 1 in 250
  - - - It accounts for 1% of all the cancers in men
  - - - It usually affects young men (age 15 - 39) in their prime of youth
  - - -  Testicular cancer has the highest cure rates among all cancers (>90%
but, like all cancers, it can recur
  - - -    Prominent symptoms include pain/swelling/lumps in testicles/groin areas
  - - -    Prominent risk factors include undescended testis (cryptorchidism), family history, mumps and inguinal hernia
  - - - Surgical removal of a testicle will not affect fertility. Chemotherapy, on the other hand, can harm sperm count/quality. Sperm banking may then be considered.

Symptoms of testicular cancer may include:

Painless lump or swelling on either testicle. If detected early, a testicular tumor may be about the size of a pea or a marble, but it can grow much larger.

Pain or discomfort, with or without swelling, in a testicle or the scrotum.

Change in the way a testicle feels or a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum. For example, one testicle may become more firm than the other testicle. Or, testicular cancer may cause the testicle to grow bigger or to become smaller.

Dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin

Sudden buildup of fluid in the scrotum

Breast tenderness or growth. Although rare, some testicular tumors produce hormones that cause breast tenderness or growth of breast tissue, a condition called gynecomastia.

Lower back pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, and bloody sputum or phlegm can be symptoms of later-stage testicular cancer.

Swelling of one or both legs or shortness of breath from a blood clot can be symptoms of testicular cancer. For some young or middle-aged men, developing a blood clot may be the first sign of testicular cancer.

         TREATMENT

Testicular cancer is highly treatable especially if caught early. With early detection treatments are more effective and often less aggressive than when the cancer is detected in the later stages.
Treatments include:
  surgery,
radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy.
The treatments depend on the type and stage of the testicular cancer as well individual preferences. Seminomas are usually more responsive to radiation therapy than nonseminomas.

  1. Everyone here i think would have gotten a piece of their share from cancer, with some being able to survive and others dying even with the high efforts of oncologists. I had lungs cancer due to the fact that i was a hardcore smoker Due to the terrain in Alaska. I started to have symptoms in 2008 and i was diagnosed in April 2009. Several therapies of treatment were prescribed but none seemed to help me. I had just less than a year to live. Less than 6 months to go i read about Doctor Roland who is a herbal doctor that treats cancer. At first i doubted because my case was chronic and even if he could help it was already late. I had nothing to lose so i contacted him and he was very encouraging even in my condition and i placed an order for the herbal medicine which i used for 3 months. Even before i was done using it i felt strong and after it all i went for diagnosis and i tested negative. This is a permanent cure because it's been three years from my supposed death and i am still very strong and alive. Do not give up soon on yourself just reach him on (dr.rolandoscar@gmail.com) i am positive that if i can be cured you too can. I pray for all cancer patients worldwide.
