We Need To Talk : Part 2.

She shook her head like someone that pitied a guy that had been shot. In my case, I had been shot to death.
"No oo." She shook her head. "Now I have seen your true self. I have made up my mind."
"Ha, Wummi, I'm sorry na. It was a mistake. Okay, should I propose? I will propose." My heart was racing faster than a Ferrari I was just praying that she would say no. And she did.
"Noo. I don't want."
"But why?" I asked as I pleaded with her. I tried getting hold of her skirt but she moved too quickly and my face kissed the sandy ground.
It was already decided. So I got up. There was no need humiliating myself any further. The next thing I heard knocked me off my feet.
"I am pregnant." She said as she threw her face the opposite direction.
"Jesus.", was all I could say
I remembered Paul's last statement. Chai. That guy really need to stop talking.

Now, while philosophers and Bible scholars will have a field day in proving which quote holds more accurate, I can't help but come to think and accept that there is wisdom in knowing oneself, whether it is the beginning or the middle or the tail of the wisdom's ladder. No wonder one of the greatest philosophers to grace this brown earth famously said, "Know Thyself".
Perhaps, this has been man's greatest challenge, the ability to figure out who and what exactly he is. Little wonder Lewis Carroll, after much pondering, said in the famous Alice in Wonderland, "Who in the world am I? Ah, that's a great puzzle”, and it seems this puzzle won't be solved anytime soon.

We Need To Talk : part 1

It was 4:37pm, Sunday evening and not until 6:00pm would I get the chance to know my fate.
It was like I was awaiting a death penalty by firing squad with no option than to accept my fate.

The clouds darkened as the rain threatened to fall. I needed to gather in my clothes I had just washed to avoid it been drenched but that wasn't what I was more worried about.
The call came in around 2:15pm or so and from the unmasked emotions depicted in her voice, I could only think of one thing. 'Damn, it was over.'
Call me balmy or anything but when a lady says, those four dreaded words, 'We need to talk', trust me, there is only one thing that comes to mind, 'The gods must be dancing on your grave.'
I don't know if it is just me or most guys also dread that 'line'.
I remembered vividly the day it happened to one of my friends. We all in the living room, playing FIFA 14 and the excitement was just so real.
Paul was up by 2 goals and he felt like a king. It was actually the first time the he had this luck of winning this game against me and boy!, he won't allow me to hear the rest of it.
His phone rang, out of excitement he paused the game. I was already feeling agitated and threatening to turn off the game. At least it was mine and I bought it with my hard earned money.
He laughed it off and soon attended to his call.
"Hey baby, how are ya?."
He loved saying that. I was still plotting a comeback for the game but my mind soon blanked out when I heard,
"Any problem?"

I looked at him, hoping there was no rift between him and his girlfriend. He so loved her and had once sworn to end his life if she ever leave him. Not that I took him seriously anyway.
After a minute or so he ended the call and looked at us with blank expression. He shook his head and bowed as in shame of defeat.
He came over to the sofa and sunk into it like a sinking stone. I could only wonder what  bedeviled his once vibrant mind.
"She gave me the line."
"Holy mother of God. She didn't just do that.", was all I could say as I rallied around about him. His eyes began to form a well of tears and I almost broke down with laughter.
Not that I liked what was happening but seeing him cry reminded me of when we were both slapped by a soldier, you know that kind of confused cry.

Good Morning Beautiful People All Over The World. It's a Beautiful Saturday Morning. It's time to wake up and face the day.  Congratulations to everyone celebrating one event or another. Oops for those walking down the aisle today Happy New Beginning Of The Next Phase of your Life.
I woke up this morning with a strong question for us this Morning, in my heart. "when was the Last Time, you gave Thanks"?   Hmm don't be in a haste to answer this question,  take your time, take a deep breath and think really hard.
Sincerely, when was the last time, you woke up from your bed, look around and just say Thank You God? . When was the last time, you spent the whole day, smiling, humming a song in your heart, thanking God, for where you are coming from, where you are now, and where he is taking you tomorrow?.
  You know I have come to find out, that as humans we are quick to see other peoples fault, what they got right, what they got wrong including seeing God's fault, but never seeing our faults. We have our reasons why we won't pray, thank him, go to church or religious gathering.
You asked him for a car, a house, a husband, a wife a child, promotion, to heal you of your sickness, and he has not answered ,you asked him, not to let your mum, dad, sister, brother, uncle, husband, wife to die and at the end the person died. No job, food in the house, lots of bills to pay, you pray and pray, cry and  because no answer has come you conclude., God is wicked, there is No God. If there is God why am I going through all these? Why should I thank a God who had permitted all these things to befall me?  You grumble and grumble, carrying so much bitterness and anger in your heart against God. Am not saying you have no right to do so., you are the one wearing the shoe, so you alone knows where it hurts. But please wait a minute!  Can I ask you a question, what have you done for God?  Yes you heard me right.

Wait A Minute Have You Taken Stock Today? Part 2

Today, I will share the story of Jane which inspired me when I read it. It was a beautiful Sunday morning. Jane a little girl of 6 years old had followed her parents to church. Some hours later, the family came back home and Jane's mum headed for the kitchen to prepare lunch. Dad sat in the living room to read some Christian journals. Meanwhile Jane disappeared into her room to do what she knew how to do best. When time for lunch came, Jane's parents got to the dinning table and waited for their daughter. Shortly after they called all over the house but there was no response. Wondering what could have happened,  they traced Jane to her room upstairs where they found her packing packing all her earthly belonging (clothes, shoes books, toys etc.) into the big family box. Unperturbed at their opening of the door, Jane kept ransacking the room for other items that must be packed into the box.

Loneliness Is A Blessing.

Someone said and I quote : "it is better to be single and be lonely, than been married and be Lonely".
   What is Loneliness?
Sadness because one has no friends or company. Loneliness is a complex and usually unpleasant emotional response to isolation or lack of companionship. Loneliness typically includes anxious feelings about a lack of connection or communication with other beings, both in the present and extending into the future. As such, loneliness can be felt even when surrounded by other people. The causes of loneliness are varied and include social, mental, emotional or even physical factors.
If you go thru the Internet and read various books, you will be told that loneliness is not Good for you, it leads to depression, heart attack and low self esteem. God himself acknowledge in his word in( Genesis 2:18) :" It is not good that man should be alone... "
However, in as much as Loneliness is not good, there comes a time in our lives., Loneliness is not just Good, Loneliness is a Blessing. Did I just say that? Yes I did.  Why? It is better to be lonely and

"sorry  we're closed for business today", Robert Jones side to a customer pointing to the door. The notice, which read "CLOSED", gave him a well deserved break from the customers at the store. It was one of those busy Saturdays when the Roberts Store did it's stocktaking. Bi-monthly,  inventory of every piece of hardware in the store. "we are taking inventory of all we have in the store so that everything will be accounted for. It's important that all business persons do this periodically, because it enables them to check whether they are receiving the gross profit that they had intended. "
" OK, " his father smiled." Now,  I understand what you're doing. You're a good business man,  son,  a very good business man. " Thanks for the compliment, dad, Robert replied with an air of pride." But you don't strike me as a wise man, "the old man quickly cut in. Not sure if what he meant, Roasted asked, as he raised his eyebrow in surprise," what are you talking about, dad. I don't understand you.? "

The deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government of constantly provoking the Igbo speaking people of the southeast geo-political zone.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that every Nigerian is a potential mental health patient. Until now, mental health is associated with reduced life expectancy and lifespan compared to the general population.
Indeed most Nigerians are daily exposed to chronic stress from multiple sources, including work; money, health, heavy traffic, fear of Ebola Virus Disease and terrorist attacks, and relationship worries; and media overload.
Several studies have shown that chronic stress increases the risk of developing health problems including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and a weakened immune system. Chronic stress also affects a person's mental health. Many studies show a correlation between stress and the development of mood disorders such as anxiety disorders and depression.
It has also been shown that cardiovascular disease, which includes coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, hypertension and stroke, is one of the leading causes of death among people with severe mental disorders. People with severe mental disorders also have higher than expected rates of Type II diabetes, respiratory diseases, and infections such as Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV), hepatitis and tuberculosis.
Researchers say the medical conditions experienced by this group are associated with preventable risk factors, such as smoking, physical inactivity, obesity, and side effects of psychiatric medication.
It has also been demonstrated that people with severe mental disorders are also more likely to receive lower quality health and social care than the general population.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), one of the central issues around healthcare access for people with a severe mental disorder is the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness, and that up to one in every ten human being should expect at some time in their lives to suffer from a significant mental health issue.
Researchers are unanimous that mental illness of different types, most frequently depression, are among the highest causes of Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) - which is a major measure of the loss of productive life suffered as a result of different types of illness all over the world.
Previous studies have shown that, in Nigeria, more than ninety percent of people with a diagnosable mental illness never get to see a doctor or receive treatment of any sort.
The cost of untreated mental illness to society in terms of lost productivity every year is humongous - estimated in the hundreds of billions of naira.
Also, the absence of National Policy on mental health and non-passage of Mental Health Bill has not helped maters.

I'm sure many of you have read that the police is now involved in my issue with Wizkid. Yes, I reported his public threat to me two Sundays ago to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and I want to explain why I did it! Please pay attention and keep an open mind.

I've read a lot online from people saying I don't like Wizkid. Even Wizkid himself thinks I don't like him. Why he or anyone would think so is puzzling to me to be honest. Apart from his achievements after he started insulting me online a few weeks ago...everything else, every success Wizkid has recorded in the last 3/4 years is on LIB. All the awards, all the record breaking feats, his sold out concerts, his foreign magazine features, and collaborations, everything that has built him up to the young man he is today is on LIB. I was a huge Wizkid fan. The only song I danced harder to than his 'Dance For Me' track was Fuse ODG's 'Antenna and Kiss Daniel & DJ Shabzy's Raba. So, no, I had no dislike for Wizkid. But about a year ago, I noticed his indirect snide remarks at me...and when some other music star beefed with me, Wizkid showed his support and made disrespectful comments. That was when I noticed he had issues with me... but that didn't stop me from writing about him and celebrating him.

Now to the issue at hand. When I reported that he was served quit notice at his Lekki home, I stated fact and I didn't write it out of malice. It's not everyday you get exclusive stories...and I'm sure any other blogger who got the story first would also have published it. So, there was no beef, I was just doing my job. A day or so after I wrote this story, Wizkid went on my instagram page to call me names and lied that I slept with some director of his...which I have said before is 1000% lies! But the insult and lies is not why the police is now involved.

MY CANDID LETTER TO THE SENATE PRESIDENT

Your Excellency, I’m convinced the time has come to write you this letter despite the fact that I have some measure of access to you. I decided to do this in order to tackle the mischief makers who believe I’m your very close friend and as such must be a rabid supporter of yours. I have been accused of all sorts of garbage including being paid heavy sums of money from your bottomless pocket. I’m aware that most of these guys can never believe that anyone could stand up for principle without pecuniary gains. But before I go into the meat of this letter, I need to state my background briefly as I’m sure you don’t even know me well enough to understand and appreciate my socio-political trajectory.

I have read all sorts about you and I and it is necessary sometimes to put the records straight for the sake of doubting Thomases who can never see anything good in others. You were a Governor for eight years and I can’t remember ever meeting you one on one. The only time I believe we exchanged physical pleasantries would have been at the 70th birthday dinner hosted in honour of your mother-in-law, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora at The Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos some years back. I remember seeing and greeting you and a few of the former and current Governors present including Olusegun Osoba, James Ibori, Babatunde Fashola and others.

I would later see one of the pictures I took at the party and read many years after that I was busy drinking champagne with James Ibori who was being wanted for several cases of corruption and so on. I could not believe my eyes because the picture showed clearly that I was chatting with Chief Olusegun Osoba while Ibori minding his business behind me but someone needed to rubbish me for reasons I could never fathom. Not just that, Ibori was still a Governor and would I run away from a function or refuse to greet people so as not to be accused of hobnobbing with corrupt leaders?

The next time I interfaced with you was after you employed Mr Bamikole Omishore who was my American campaign coordinator in Washington DC, when I joined the Presidential race from 2010-2011. I was happy that you got such a brilliant young man to manage your social media. But you and I got closer for only one reason in the past one year plus because we both campaigned vigorously for Major General Muhammadu Buhari and you and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi were the best of pals and he has been my friend long before he became Governor of Rivers State. I loved the way you, Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Wamako, Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar, and others took the bold decision that would change the course of Nigerian history for better or for worse when you abandoned PDP despite threats and harassments. I must have met you about twice in your Lagos home to strategise and was particularly impressed with your ability to rally the likes of Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Wale Tinubu and others who ordinarily would have felt a need to support the government in power. I was informed you were able to raise some stupendous amount of money during and after the APC primaries. We talked more on phone and you assured me constantly that everything was on course. The rest is history.

  I was reading through the Newspaper, "The Guardian"  06 March 2015., with The Caption :
  Activists Lament Rising Incidences Of Child Sexuality Abuse. "The group told News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN)  that Sexual abuse of minors should be a cause if concern to us all".
  Mrs Hope Okoye,  Executive Director of  Integrated Development Anti- Human  Trafficking and Commodity Development Initiative (INTACOM-Africa) identified communication and massive awareness as a major tool in eliminating child and Sexual abuse.
  Parents and guardians needs to educate both boys and girls about Sex. Some parents do not talk about Sex Education and this is a subject that needs to be addressed.
       In my opinion, I would say I agree with Mrs hope. Why?  I strongly believe that with the proper kind of Sex Education, child and Sexual abuse will not only reduce, it will enable parents to be alerted immediately any of their child or ward is molested. Yes, I said the proper

What Is LPG? LPG, stands for  Liquefied Petroleum Gas. LPG can be propane, butane (normal  butane and or / iso-butane) or a mix of propane and butane. This type of petroleum gas occurs naturally in crude oil and natural gas and it can also be found as a by product of the various processes in an oil refinery., and normal temperature environment and under moderate pressure, this gas condenses into Liquid - LPG.

  What Is LPG Used For?
  LPG  is used for residential, commercial and industrial purposes. Residentially,  LPG can be used for heating - water and space, refrigeration, cooking  and electricity generation.

In God's dictionary : Sex doesn't equal love, yet it is often mistaken for Love. Though the excitement of the physical relationship is intoxicating, real Love extends far beyond Sex. The
implications of engaging in Sex before marriage are so much that they can't be quantified.
