Mental Health.

  Mental Health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence, through adulthood. Mental health problems can cover a broad range of disorders such as depression and anxiety, to more rare problems such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. But the common characteristic is that they all affect the affected person’s personality, thought processes or social interactions. They can be difficult to clearly diagnose, unlike physical illnesses. Only a certified mental health professional can provide an accurate diagnosis of the
causes of a given mental health disorder.
   Over the course of your life, if you experience mental health problems, your thinking, mood and behaviour could be affected. Many factors contribute to mental health problems including :
1) Biological factors - genes and brain chemistry.
2) Life experiences - trauma or abuse.
3) Family history of Mental health problems.
4) Economic situation - unemployment, no food, house rent issues.
5) Marital Stress -  Nagging wife /husband, domestic violence, etc.
    According to the National Institute for Mental Health, over 90 percent of Suicides have  depression or another mental disorder as factors.       
                                Early Signs Of Mental Health Problems
  Not sure if anyone you know is Living with mental health problems?  Experiencing. One or more of the following feelings or behavior can be an early sign of a problem.
- - - Eating or sleeping too much or too little.
- - -  Pulling away from people and usual activities.
- - -  Having Low or no energy.
- - -  Feeling numb or Like nothing matters.
- - -  Having unexplained aches and pains.
- - -  Feeling helpless or hopeless.
- - -  Smoking, drinking and using drugs more than usual.
- - -  Feeling usually confused, forgetful, on edge, angry, upset, worried or scared.
- - -  Yelling or fighting with family and friends.
- - -  Experiencing severe mood swings that cause problems in relationships.
- - -  Having persistent thought and memories you can't get out of your head.
- - -  Hearing voices, or believing things that are not true.
- - -  Thinking of harming yourself or people around you.
- - -  Inability to perform daily tasks like : taking care of your kids or getting to work or school etc.
    This is, by no means, a complete list of symptoms. However, If you or anyone around you is exhibiting these signs, then there is need  to speak to a mental health professional immediately. This will enable him / her get the right help needed.
  It is important to note, that mental health problems are a common human experience. It can happen to anyone, at any time. It's nothing to  be ashamed of or feel Inferior. And it's likely that, when you find a combination of self-care, treatment and support that works for you, you will get better.
