For The Love Of The Arts

Art means different things to different people; for some, it is the only medium of communication to the larger public that they have, while others might see it as a means of transportation to a realm of peace and tranquility. In these present times, art has gained a high degree of acceptance but sometimes its usefulness and essence in the society is downplayed. Besides the percentage of people that see art as a useful medium of
communication and emotional connectivity; another large chunk of people see the arts as a steady source of revenue and tourism.
These are part of the benefits of the arts in any given society but should these be the only reasons the arts are given audience in the society? Well, I don’t think so. As far as I am concerned the arts is a unifying factor that conquers the barriers of language difference and cultural diversity. It is a means of communicating ideals and ideas. If channeled with the right energy and with right intentions, the arts will not only entertain an audience but will also implant in their minds any idea or message that one intends to pass across to the general public.
The impact of the message passed may start with a particular audience, but will definitely have a wide-spread in the society as far as the desired effect of the message is achieved . Art is therefore undeniably an important means of communication and should be used wisely to preach right from wrong in our society. It should be a source of inspiration to not only the audience but the society at large.
Whether we like it or not, the arts have come to stay and will be around until the end of the existence of man and so, it is important for us to practice the arts first for the passion and the love, then any other benefits will fall into place.
