Safety Tips :Cooking With Gas?

Do you use Gas for cooking? Are you aware that you can endanger the life of your friends and family, if you don't follow certain Kitchen Safety Tips?.
Ok today am going to be sharing with us, Kitchen Safety Tips  for those of you who use LPG known as Gas. I bet ya many of you have been using cooking with Gas for many years, and you don't know the full meaning. If don't know the meaning,  how can you use it well. Not to worry I have got your back.

What Is LPG? LPG, stands for  Liquefied Petroleum Gas. LPG can be propane, butane (normal  butane and or / iso-butane) or a mix of propane and butane. This type of petroleum gas occurs naturally in crude oil and natural gas and it can also be found as a by product of the various processes in an oil refinery., and normal temperature environment and under moderate pressure, this gas condenses into Liquid - LPG.

  What Is LPG Used For?
  LPG  is used for residential, commercial and industrial purposes. Residentially,  LPG can be used for heating - water and space, refrigeration, cooking  and electricity generation.


                                                GAS SAFETY RULES

 
        A    SAFETY TIPS TO  REMEMBER :

1) Always remember to shut the valve when the stove is not in use especially at night.

2)Always  light the match before  turning on the gas.

3) Don't tamper with your cylinder or allied equipment.

4) Make sure all parts of the installation are in good condition.

5) If you find anything wrong with any part, contact your distributor.

6) It's safer to wear a cotton clothing while working in the kitchen.

7) Keep  Children away from the installation while working.

8) Never leave the burner on and unattended. The burner could extinguish  by over flowing of cooking materials or even drought of air, allowing gas to leak.

9) The accumulated gas could get  ignited by the second burner  in operation or other sources resulting in a fire.

10) SON states that cooking Gas cylinder are to be pre-qualified  after every five years and cylinders  expire after  fifteen years of use.

11) Turn pan handles to the side away from the flame. Keep plastic items away from stoves.

12) Get  your tube changed when ever it is damaged. And as a rule, replace the rubber tube every two years.

    B    IF YOU SMELL GAS, DON'T PANIC,HERE IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO

1)  Turn the pressure regulator  knob to the "OFF"  position.

2) Put out all the fires in the kitchen.

3) Open all doors and windows for ventilation.

4) Don't strike a match.

5) Do not operate any electric switches -  electric switches  and dry cell torches generate spark while switching on or off.

6) Take cylinder outside.

7) Get in touch with the Gas distributor.
