Avoiding Sex Education?

        
                                              The Need For Sexuality Education

  I was reading through the Newspaper, "The Guardian"  06 March 2015., with The Caption :
  Activists Lament Rising Incidences Of Child Sexuality Abuse. "The group told News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN)  that Sexual abuse of minors should be a cause if concern to us all".
  Mrs Hope Okoye,  Executive Director of  Integrated Development Anti- Human  Trafficking and Commodity Development Initiative (INTACOM-Africa) identified communication and massive awareness as a major tool in eliminating child and Sexual abuse.
  Parents and guardians needs to educate both boys and girls about Sex. Some parents do not talk about Sex Education and this is a subject that needs to be addressed.
       In my opinion, I would say I agree with Mrs hope. Why?  I strongly believe that with the proper kind of Sex Education, child and Sexual abuse will not only reduce, it will enable parents to be alerted immediately any of their child or ward is molested. Yes, I said the proper
kind of Sex Education because, many parents are not giving their children the right information about all they need to know about Sex Education. For  Example, the first time I told my mum that I think I have injured myself in the place where I do wee wee, that there is blood there, which in order words mean am now menstruating.,which prior before now,  No one told me what to expect, I was scared. When I shared it with my mum, do you know what she said to me?  Hmmmm she said" what is happening to you now is what is called menses. If a boy or man should touch you now, you will get pregnant. This is the only information I was given, which doesn't even explain anything at all. The rest I leave to your imagination on how I kept avoiding boys and men like plague, and crying that am pregnant each time am passing by and a boy touch me. Laughing right? but seriously it was not back then.
Parents and guardian, it's time to rise to the occasion. Sensitize your children and ward, both boys and girls on Sex Education. In doing this, please and please call things by their names. Stop hiding information from them. What you are hiding from them, the child and Sexual abuse /molester will not. This is not the time to shout or push them away, make them your friends. Be open to discussions and questions. The world is not safe anymore.,  both the make and female children are now seriously molested everyday. The information you give today could save  child from been molested tomorrow. The father and mother can both talk to the male children or the father alone. The mother should talk to the female alone I will advise in order to enable her feel free and not awkward because dad is present.
  
                 What Then Is Sexuality In Education?

Sexuality Education, is that type of education, we give to adolescents and youths so that they will understand Everything please take note of the word Everything, about their body chemistry. This means teaching for the Boys: that he has a Penis, which produces semen and can be turgid. We need to let them know because some at time can start masturbating and if carw is not taken, they can father a child. For The Girls: at this stage we need to let them know they will grow breast, the enlargement of their vulva, vagina and their menstruation cycle should be taught them.
      In Sexuality Education, you call things by their names. Don't say:wee wee thing. Call the names.,  vagina, Penis that way, they know what it is you're actually talking about. Ideally, sex Education should start at Age 5.,but nowadays we have  come to see and hear about children under the age of 5, now more in danger of child and sexual abuse. When bathing the young ones, tell them both the boys and girls, that :Example, touching it to explain how, that their pains and vagina is not to be touched by anyone at all. Be specific, No uncle, Aunty, Teachers, not even their elder or younger brother or sister or father is permitted to touch them their. If anyone should do so, they should not be afraid to report to mama, not even if they are given sweet, biscuits, or money to keep their mouth shut.
  Mothers please I know the Economic situation in the nation has made things in such a way that both father and mother go out very early in the morning in order to beat the traffic and make ends meet, please and please do not leave all the work for the house maids and care givers. Take out time to examine both male and female children from time to time, ask questions to know what is going on in the life of your children and ward.
  Parents and guardian have to teach about issues on Sexuality because these children are being exposed to different images through the Internet, television, and movies they watch.
