The Dangers Of Holding Your Pee For A long Period Of Time.

The health risk of holding your pee for a long period of time: Dangers of ignoring nature calls

The urge to use the rest room are completely natural, but sometime where we are might not permited to answer the call of nature, depending on the particular place we are at that moment, maybe you don’t have access to the rest room.  We all need to do it with a certain frequency so that our bodies can eliminate all of the excess and waste product that it doesn’t need.

But a lot of people still tend to practice the habit of holding their pee, which has a lot of health consequences. In case holding your urine for a long period  time can increase your risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and a condition where your bladder can’t fully empty, known as urinary which can lead to severe urinary infections, bacterial infections that affect the urinary
tract. This occurs due to the germs present in urine that have been sitting too long in the bladder. Everyone can ignore his or her  body’s signals to use the restroom for different amounts of time, but all of us have the same basic urinating instincts that will sooner or later prevail.  As we devour foods and liquids our bladders begin to fill up, and its holds about 50 to 500 milliliters of urine before we can feel the urge to the rest room to relieve ourselves. If you don’t use the rest room at that moment the bladder wall are being expanded to accommodate incoming waste, When our bladders are about half full, these receptors send a signal to the brain telling us it’s time to visit the bathroom. In this situations, the brain are given signals, while the bladder to hold on tight until the right time, place, you can use the rest room. The adults have control over bathroom urges, and can act on or delay urges as needed, unlike our younger one that pee on bed.

Below are the health risk of holding your urine for a long period of time

• KIDNEY STONE.
People who tend to hold their pee for a long period of time are prone to the development of kidney stones, the consequences of kidney stones can be much worse. Kidney stones are tiny “stones” that form in the kidneys from excess sodium or calcium, and if these mineral deposits are not regularly expelled via the urine, the moment will come in which the stones try to leave the body via the urinary tract and the pain that this movement produces will be unbearable.

. Cystitis
Another health risk of holding your urine can lead cystitis, which are known to be problem that primarily affects women, and has to do with the inflammation of the walls of the bladder. Its primary symptoms are: Pain in the pelvis, Burning and pain while urinating. Cystitis is an inflammation or infection of the bladder, and is likely to result from holding urine too long. Similar to urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder infections occur when bacteria make their way into the bladder via the urethra, the tube that urine travels through to exit the body. Women are more likely to get bladder infections because they have shorter urethras than men. Sexual activity is a common cause of UTIs and bladder infections for women and men. Although bladder infections and UTIs aren’t caused by holding your pee, they may make you to feel like you have to pee all the time. one of the common symptoms of these infections is feeling the urge to urinate very frequently. Research has made us to understand, holding your pee will cause rupture of the bladder or bladder infections — just incontinence.

  SWELLING OF THE BLADDER.

Our bladder can store up to 15 ounces of liquid. If you drink eight glasses of water a day, the amount of liquid you consume amounts to approximately 64 ounces, or that is to say that an average bladder can hold up to around a quarter of the water you drink each day; so it doesn’t actually help if you are a person who regularly consumes liquids to keep your body well-hydrated and your kidneys in good shape if you do not also make it a priority to go to the bathroom the moment you feel the need to. One of the major reasons that it is always suggested to drink enough liquids is that it aids the important function of cleaning the  kidneys, which can really only be performed via nothing more and nothing less than the regular expulsion via urine of the water that we drink, and with it the residues that the body no longer needs and that, furthermore, can even cause a whole host of other problems.

So, when you have the urge to use the toilet , we should try and make our way to the toilet before we become uncomfortable. But if you have to hold it, you can sit tight knowing your inconvenience is unlikely to lead to an infections.
