Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has arrived in Nigeria, in his first ever visit to the continent, for a business research trip.
According to a press release from his company:
Zuckerberg is in Nigeria to listen and learn and take ideas back to California on how Facebook
can better support tech development and entrepreneurship across Africa."
He flew in from Italy where, among other things, he met Pope Francis and spoke about the "importance of connecting people, especially in parts of the world without internet access".
The world's 7th richest man on earth, Mark Zuckerberg arrived Nigeria on 'ordinary' polo shirt; no wrist watch, necklace. Neither was he moving with bodyguards nor sirens....
